ASEAN Transition Finance Guidance: Advancing ASEAN Transition

The Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA), the ASEAN Bankers Association (ABA) and the Sustainable Finance Institute Asia (SFIA) are pleased to invite you to attend our jointly hosted webinar on the ASEAN Transition Finance Guidance on Wednesday, 20 March 2024. Given the urgent need for transition finance in the region, the ASEAN Transition Finance Guidance (ATFG) was developed to provide a credible and consistent approach to Transition Finance for ASEAN. The development of the ATFG was an initiative of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) with the support of the ASEAN Working Committee on Capital Market Development. The ATFG Version 1 was developed with Oliver Wyman as knowledge partner and with the support of the Asian Development Bank and SFIA. It was launched at the ACMF International Conference in October 2023. The Guidance aims to:
● Accelerate the efforts of financial institutions to direct finance to transitioning companies, by standardising which companies should be the focus of such efforts.
● Create incentives for real economy companies to create more ambitious and credible transition plans, through differentiating what commands a greater demand premium from investors.
This webinar features a presentation and a panel discussion to further unpack Version 1 through a discussion on the salient points and unique features of the ATFG including the 3-tier assessment, alternative pathways, and Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
